Announcing First2Board Meetup 2016 in Portland!
It has been a very busy year for me (Simon from Running For Status) personally so I haven’t had the time to organize a more formal sessions this year. I traveled about 150k miles the first half of the year and then moved from Boston to Seattle during the summer.
I have decided to organize a meetup in Portland, Oregon between October 21st and 23rd. Many of the First2Board bloggers will be there to share their thoughts on travel. We will be organizing a few activities over the weekend that will allow everyone to meet each other and share stories and tips around travel. We will be starting on Friday night and ending Sunday afternoon.
Event Information:
Event Signup: Here is the website that you can RSVP. This event is free but the tour cost is on your own. If you want to attend the dinners on Friday or Saturday and some of the activities on Saturday, it will be best to RSVP so we can reserve an appropriate amount of tickets or seats for everyone.
Hotel Rooms: Most of us will be staying at the Sheraton near Portland Airport (PDX). We will be using the lounge as an informal gathering spot in between activities.
Event Schedule
Friday, October 21st
- 5pm – 7pm – on your own (informal gathering at the Sheraton Club Lounge)
- 7pm – 9pm – group dinner (dinner – please RSVP if you are attending)
Saturday, October 22nd
- 8:30 am – 9:30am – breakfast on your own
- 11am – 2pm – Portland Food Carts and Neighborhood Tour ($82, eatadventures.com)
- 3pm – 6pm – Brewvana Beer and Barrels Tour ($89 for drinkers, $75 for nondrinkers)
- 6:30 – Group dinner (dinner – please RSVP if you are attending) casual opportunity to mix and mingle with other attendees
Sunday, October 23rd
- 8 am – 9:30- morning run/yoga/spa or time on your own
- 10 am – noon – TBD
- Noon – sessions officially end, for those staying on, there will be optional tours available at a minimal cost
