Excellent Chicago Trip Introduction

Excellent Chicago Trip Introduction

This post is the Excellent Chicago Trip Introduction.  It covers my work trip to Chicago.

Background

This Excellent Chicago Trip Introduction is a trip report when I traveled to Chicago for a finance training seminar. The meeting took place over the good part of a week in May.

I researched fun things to do in the city by consulting the Lonely Planet Chicago Guide.

The trip report includes a review of American Airlines flying to and from Chicago.

During the trip, I stayed at the Conrad Hilton Chicago.

This was the third trip to Chicago over a two month period. The first trip was an Epic Chicago Weekend. The second trip was another work trip.

Booking

The airfare was booked on American Airlines for around $200 round trip. The flight was paid for me by my day job.

The hotel was booked direct via Hilton.

Book your next trip: Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Priceline, or TripAdvisor. Note: Elite benefits may be limited when not booking direct.

Activities

While I was in Chicago, I spent most of my time at a conference which took place at Navy Pier.

The weather was rainy for most of the week; however, the last day offered a nice sunny and warm day.

In the past, I purchased a Chicago CityPass so that I could check out several awesome attractions with very minimal wait times. If you have a couple days to sightsee, I would highly recommend the pass.

I walked around near Navy Pier and saw some of the boats as well as got some good views of the Chicago Skyline.

I also walked along the river within the city.

I’ve never been on one of these tours, but I think it would be fun to ride around on the river in Chicago.

Have you been on one of the tours?

Food

While I was in Chicago, I had the opportunity to sample a great Chicago Dog at Downtown Dogs.

They had some great photos of dogs for their interior decorations.

The dog was excellent and it was served with fries.

Chicago recently received a couple locations of Shake Shack over the past year. I had only visited the chain one other time while I was at JFK airport in the past. I figured it was worth checking out in the Windy City.

You can use their mobile app to order and they will have your burger and fries waiting for you when you arrive.

I did that and the burger was ready right when I arrived.

It was really good. What do you think of their burger offerings?

Windy City

It was a good week in Chicago. I enjoyed being at Navy Pier for the conference as well as spending some time walking around the city.

Have you been to Chicago recently for a business trip? What did you do while you were there?
