A Drink that Delights….
On the seventh day of Starbucks 12 Days of Bonus Stars (December 10th) you will receive either 1,2,3, or 4 Bonus Stars with the purchase of any handcrafted Macchiato after 2 p.m.
Well I, for one, am certainly glad to see the Bonus Stars return to something that Starbucks does really well… and that is making handcrafted drinks! You can choose from Vanilla, Caramel, or Hazlenut flavors – served hot or iced. Personally, my favorite is the Caramel Macchiato with an extra shot of espresso and extra caramel on top! Yum!
It must be a favorite with many others because on the Starbucks website it says:
Scores of people are passionate devotees of this signature beverage. So bewitched are they, you’d think it was some kind of magical elixir. Well there’s no hocus pocus here. We’ll tell you exactly what goes into it: creamy vanilla-flavored syrup, freshly steamed milk with a topping of velvety-rich foam, an intense hit of our Espresso Roast, a finishing of buttery caramel drizzle … okay, we take it back. That does sounds like magic to us. (And it tastes even better.)
Some people have noted that they aren’t getting the maximum number of Bonus Stars for their offer. I am not sure what the ‘formula’ is that Starbucks uses to determine what you get, but I have a feeling that participation is the key. Perhaps the more you participate in the Starbucks promotions, the more likely you are to get the higher number. I certainly haven’t received the top offer each day either…and even had to skip today’s offer because I was waiting for the cable guy. Ah well…
Make sure that you are using your app or registered card for all of your purchases. The offer I received today was:
You’ll notice that with each offer it states that you may use the offer as many times as you would like. Therefore, if you are purchasing more than one item, it always makes sense to pay for each item separately to get the best advantage from the offers. Of course, this rings true for any time you visit Starbucks. Separate transactions. Always.
I’m not sure what the algorithm is either. I’ve gotten the max offer each day except for the mug from the dot collection…where I actually got the minimum offer. :-/ ( 2 stars) A hefty percentage of my Starbucks purchases are city mugs/city ornaments. So far, of the 12 days I’ve only used the packaged coffee offer — and I used it 6 times. I’ve participated in their bonus star programs here and there in the past…probably around 25-50% of them.
So funny how they figure things like this isn’t it? I’m just happy to be able to participate since I seldom get targeted for hotel or airline promotions. This way I can soothe myself with free coffees from Starbucks.
