How Sweet It Is….
Oh my! What an easy to fulfill promotion! The only difficult part about this Bonus Star promotion would be choosing – I’m not sure which one of these I’d like to buy. Salted caramel square… Michigan Cherry Bar… Chocolate Chip Cookie? I keep eyeing the Cranberry Bliss Bar, so that would definitely make it into a bag. If I go, I think I may just have to buy a couple and that will take care of after dinner dessert for the better half and me!
I checked the status of bars and cookies at my (not so) local Starbucks this afternoon and there were virtually none in the case. I asked if this was a typical state of affairs and was told that they have been selling out typically by 1 or 2 in the afternoon. With that kind of popularity, I would think they would keep more on hand for the afternoon crowd. You probably know your own local Starbucks pretty well, so keep this in mind.
There has been a little bit of discussion as to what alghorithm Starbucks is using to assign bonus points… and of course, no one really knows. The offer I received today was for only two bonus stars… not the top bonus, but I could maximize it by purchasing more than one item and paying separately thereby earning 3 stars per item (oh how I wish I’d received the four bonus stars for this!). Without a ‘local’ Starbucks, it makes it a little more difficult to justify a 32 mile round trip for 3 stars per item – especially if they don’t have any! What to do?
Make sure that you are using your app or registered card for all of your purchases. The offer I received today was:
You’ll notice that with each offer it states that you may use the offer as many times as you would like. Therefore, if you are purchasing more than one item, it always makes sense to pay for each item separately to get the best advantage from the offers. Of course, this rings true for any time you visit Starbucks. Separate transactions. Always.
