He is one of those individuals who, when you meet them, you never forget. He loves his job and does his best to make his flights enjoyable for all of his passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Flying, however, is not Captain Denny&#8217;s only passion. He, as with so many Americans, was personally affected by the tragic events of September\u00a011, 2001. One of his friends and colleagues at United Airlines, Capt. Jason Dahl, was the\u00a0\u00a0Captain of United Airlines Flight 93 which was hijacked at 9:28am on September 11, 2001, subsequently crashing at 10:02am in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, instead of its intended target, the US Capitol Building in Washington D.C. It is believed that the hijackers were subdued by the heroic actions of the passengers and crew on board.<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund was established to provide two deserving aviation students a scholarship grant in Jason&#8217;s name. I am here with over 50 United crew members to honor the memory of the Pilots, Flight Attendants and Customers of United Flight 93.\u00a0It has been 13 years since that terrible day and time makes us forget, but we should not. When you hear the Nation Park Ranger tell the story of the Flight 93 coming in at a steep angle and making a 30 foot deep crater it just sends shivers up my spine.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Tonight I had dinner with the county coroner which mostly dealt with car accidents. Wally Miller spent from September 11th to February 12th looking for body parts in which he only recovered\u00a02%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In the last 13 years we have honored the memory and love of flying of Capt. Jason Dahl through a scholarship to financially help young men and women seeking an aviation career. This past June we awarded 18 scholarships and each year our program continues to grow. Please make at least a minimum donation of $1 each month.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>Because of some of the terms and conditions set forth by PayPal, Captain Denny will not be able to hold his yearly Jason Dahl aircraft event raffles any longer so he is asking us to spread the word about the Just A Buck program.\u00a0United employees make a bi-monthly payroll deduction to the Jason Dahl Schlorship Fund in a program called &#8220;Just A Buck&#8221;.
