Every few months IHG reduces the award cost of many of their hotels to 5,000 points per night. As one can always buy IHG points for around 0.7 cents, that translates to $35 per night. No taxes are added.
The official IHG PointBreaks List has not been updated yet as the last one still runs through the end of January. However, in the mean time, you can use the following IHG PointBreaks Preview List. I believe this list to be complete. There is also a Google Map of all PointBreaks Hotels created by Travel is Free.
Take a look if any hotels coincide with your travel plans and make a booking rather sooner than later. Bookings should become available around 9am Central Standard Time on Monday.
I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Batam, which is a short ferry ride from Singapore. It’s a nice-enough property and we were upgraded to a suite. Keep in mind though that there is neither free breakfast nor a lounge. Some of the Crown Plaza hotels will include lounge access if you have IHG Platinum status or higher.
