In my post on December 11th I explained how to get 2,000 Starwood points through a promotion with Acura. Since time was running out, my husband and I decided to visit our local Acura dealer in Jenkintown, PA. We met with Mike Giambattista. Mike is a great guy and we enjoyed talking to him. The topic of our conversation moved from cars to travel, of course one of my favorite topics of conversation. After getting home from the Acura dealer, I went to the Acura promotion website, entered my information and selected the Starwood points as my gift. I received a confirming e-mail that indicated I would be receiving another e-mail in a few weeks and then I will be able to upload the Starwood points directly into my Starwood account.

Without any choice I am also entered into a sweepstakes to go to the Sundance Film Festival that takes place in Park City, Utah in January as it does every year. I usually avoid entering into contests and sweepstakes, but I was not given a choice if I wanted the Starwood points. The film festival sounds wonderful, but I always assume my chance of winning is close to zero.
