Front Porch
This week we had a very pleasant stay at the Country Inns & Suites RDU Airport in North Carolina. The hotel is only a few minute drive from the Raleigh-Durham Airport.
Check-in was easy and I needed a charger for my phone. The front desk clerk gave me her own personal phone charger and asked me to return it to her the next day before we checked out. My gold status was mentioned and I was advised that we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite. When we walked into the room on the table was a reusable tote bag with snacks, two bottles of water and a letter from the manager welcoming us.
In the living area is a small sofa, older style television, desk with swivel chair, table and chairs, sink, microwave and mini refrigerator.
The bathroom was clean and bright with plenty of counter space.
The king size bed and bedding was comfortable for a one night stay. There was second older style television in the bedroom. Our AAA rate was $98.10 for the one night with taxes $110.61. Weekend rates are lower. This weekend the AAA rate is less than $80 including taxes.
Coffee and cookies are free in the lobby.
Free breakfast is available every morning. In the refrigerator were small cups of cut up mixed fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. Also included were cooked oatmeal, cold cereal, eggs, breads, jelly, peanut butter, juice, milk, coffee and tea.
The hotel has a guest reception with complementary drinks and snacks in the evening Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. We were with our son away from the hotel during the reception. There is a laundry room for guest laundry and a small gym at the hotel.
The business center at the hotel is just off the lobby. We used the computer and printer to print our boarding passes.
When we checked out of the hotel, we told the front desk clerk we needed a ride to the airport. The airport van was parked in front. Within a few minutes the driver appeared, helped us with our bag and dropped us off at the airport. This was my first stay at a Country Inns & Suites. This hotel has a great staff, it is clean and convenient to the Raleigh/Durham Airport. Now I am looking forward to my 44,000 bonus points plus the points for our stay and online booking bonus to post.
Country Inns & Suites is part of the Club Carlson group of hotels. I signed up to receive 44,000 Club Carlson points for a one night stay for their current SO GO! promotion (stay one get one night free). The promotion is still active to sign up, but now you will receive 15,000 Club Carlson points instead of 44,000 points since the initial bonus promotion points was limited to the first 35,000 to register. Here is the link. Free nights range from 9,000 to 50,000 points per night.

If you haven’t already, might I suggest you contact the hotel manager and mention the desk clerk’s generosity with the phone charger. She really went above and beyond! Thanks for the great review! Will certainly check out this hotel the next time I’m in the Raleigh area.
