Club Carlson Changes Award Categories for some Hotels

Loyalty Lobby announced that Club Carlson, the hotel that was making all the right moves in terms of their new credit card that offered 85k points + bonus nights and their recent BOGO promotions, is changing some of their hotel’s categories.

Luckily this isn’t a devaluation like the Hilton hotels as the max points for a hotel is still 50k for their category 6. I would have been mad if they raised the max points since I’m racking them up!

These changes aren’t too bad and they actually had more hotels moving down in categories than up so this is a positive. Nine Cat 6 moved down to Cat 5 and and thirty six moved from Cat 5 to Cat 4. So if you were eying some properties that you thought were too expensive in terms of points, then take a second look to see if your hotels dropped in award categories.

You have until April 30, 2013, to book using the old level as changes go into affect May 1!
