Although I don’t have a pet of my own, I love doggies! My sister and her husband has an adorable mutt and they feel bad if they were to leave her behind on vacation so they insist that she comes. She asked if there was a way to find pet friendly hotels so I did some research and there are many resources.
I found a site, OfficialPetHotels.com which seemed to be a great resource. It is a third party booking service which tells you the pet policy for each of the pet verified hotels on their website.
In case you didn’t know, most all hotels charge a non refundable pet fee per day and there are other requirements such as they must be in a crate when left alone and they are restricted from certain areas of the hotel. They also must be kept on a leash when not in the room and there is a restriction on the number of pets per room. It looks like many hotels have a 50lb weight restriction which is unfortunate for large breed owners. Some of the best dogs are the larger dogs in my opinion. There are some hotels with up to 75lb limit but those may be harder to find.
