AA has IAH-JFK Non-Stop Service & Double Miles

Starting on April 2, American Airlines has non stop service between Houston Intercontinental (IAH) and New York (JFK) and from now until June 30, 2013 after you register here, you will get double AAdvantage miles if you fly this route. That means you will get 5,656 miles for the trip. Unfortunately, bonus miles will not count toward elite status qualification or Million Miler status so if you are going for status, this flight may not be for you.

I was playing with the ITA Matrix software to see what kind of fares AA has for this new service during this time frame. Well I found the lowest fare to be $211 from IAH-JFK for 1 or 3 nights. This is about a cost of 3.7 cents/mi. Even though you can buy miles cheaper on the AA website for about 3 cents/mi, you do get to spend some time in New York!

This also works from JFK to IAH and I found a 2 night itinerary leaving on Fri and coming back Sun. So if you want to visit the big ole state of Texas now is your chance before it gets too hot.
