I had written about my 2 cents on week 1 daily getaways last week and which ones I was interested in.
Well, 1pm EST comes around and I jumped to the website to try to buy the first Marriott deal, however, every time I tried to buy, it said it was reserved and to try again. Well after several minutes of “trying again”, I gave up and within a short amount of time, it was sold out!
Wow what a joke! I couldn’t even get past the first page! I don’t think I will even bother trying for another one because of the slim chance due to very limited quantity and the hundreds of people I’m assuming that are trying to buy these deals. I might throw in the towel…
Did anyone have any success in getting a deal today? If you did, you must be a ninja!
I saw $50 Marriott gift cards for $40 with free shipping on slick deals so didn’t even bother with the daily getaways.
Just because you didn’t get in on the deal it’s a joke? We all can’t be winners. (though we can all be whiners)
Last year was the same deal. Sometimes you could get through and sometimes you missed out.
I didn’t even bother. I’d rather go buy gift cards at Safeway or the office supply store.

@patrick, I didn’t say the deals are a joke, many are very good. Actually getting them is the joke, except I’m not laughing :p
@MPMT I agree, getting 5 points/$ for Marriott gift cards sounds like great idea 🙂
what is bigger joke is all the posts about these “deals” and to how much wasted time they contribute to their readers:-)
