Amex Daily Getaways: My 2 cents for Week 1

You can find the details of the daily getaways to go on sale June 10 here, here, and here. Here is also a calendar of the deals.

Well here is my 2 cents of each one for the first week. I’ve heard you have to be pretty quick to get in on these deals.

Week 1

Marriott Gift Cards: When you purchase the lowest giftcard value of $100 for $80.10 when you use your amex card, you can sell these cards on Ebay or Cardpool to recoup your money spent. So you will be getting your Amex points for free. If I have a chance to purchase it then I will probably buy this one.

Alamo Gift Card: You can buy a $50 gift certificate for $22.50 using your amex card. Although not combined with any other discount, you can use up to 3 at a time so I think this is a great deal for an up coming trip! I’m in.

City Passes: Getting to see the sites for various cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, and San Francisco for a fraction of the cost can be pretty good! Hopefully you will have time to see them all if you get this one. These are valid until Feb 2015 and once activated, you have 9 days to see the listed attractions. If you are going to be in these cities then this is a good deal!

Caesars Entertainment: These packages are way to expensive for me although they are at reduced rates. I’m already going to Vegas for less than $200 for 3 nights so I’ll skip this one!

Park Passes: You can buy Busch Gardens $40.50 or Seaworld for $44.10 with your amex card or you can use one of the many discounts out there, for example, you can go to both Seaworld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa for $99 using promo code “cokesummer”

Also for Military personnel, you can get free admission for one park for you and up to three dependents in 2013. Click here to register.
