Amex is Giving me Discounts on Food..Yum!

I’m always trying to find ways to get free or discounted food at restaurants since I eat out very often. This is why I usually sign up for as many restaurant rewards programs as possible.

Amex is always having offers where you can sync your card and get discounts on food purchased at selected restaurants. I had previously shared my experience at Fleming’s in Austin using this concept.

Here is another offer that they are having: You can get a $10 statement credit on a $40 purchase at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK). Usually with these offers, I buy a gift card using my Amex card and use the gift card whenever I want.

Something else that is new for me is that American Express sent me a mailed offer where I could get $25 off a $50 purchase at Sullivan’s Steakhouse and it is dine in only. You don’t have to sync your card and you can use any Amex card. You also have to show the mailed discount offer to your server.

I thought this was a pleasant surprise and wondering if Amex will be sending more of these offers for various restaurants. Have you received anything similar to this? I’m curious to see what other offers are out there.
