2 New Southwest Double Points Promotions

To promote Southwest newest destinations, they are offering double points promo for 2 cities Memphis, TN and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

For Memphis destination, you must register and book flights from Sept 12, 2013 to Jan 31, 2014 for travel to/from Memphis from Nov 22, 2013 to Jan 31, 2014. Double points means that you will get 12 RR points/$ instead of 6/$ for wanna get away fares. Bonus points will not count towards companion pass or A list Status.

For San Juan destination, you must register and book flights from Sept 12, 2013 to Dec 31, 2013 for travel to/from San Juan in the same period. Double points means that you will get 12 RR points/$ instead of 6/$ for wanna get away fares. Bonus points will not count towards companion pass or A list Status.

Since these destination are now bookable on Southwest, you can use your Companion pass and Rapid Reward Points for free travel.

  1. If you book Memphis to San Juan, how many points would you get per mile? (ie. are the promos stackable?)

      I like how you think outside of the box! And honestly I’m not sure if they are stackable. The T&C doesn’t say otherwise.

  2. Thanks for pointing this out. I considered going to Puerto Rico in January but instead I’m taking my extended family to Cancun. What drives me crazy is that the Southwest and Airtran programs aren’t completely connected yet for the international Caribbean destinations. So I have to deal with bag fees, $150 change fees, and other annoying Airtran policies that don’t exist with Southwest.
