Yesterday Very Good Points posted about a promotion United Airlines was offering where the more that people buy United miles, the bigger the bonus will be. Well the bonus is now at 50%.
So does this make it a good deal now to buy miles? Well if you were to get the minimum purchase of 5,000 miles for $188.13, you would be getting 7,500 miles at a cost of .025/mi.
The Points Guy argues that even at a 60% bonus, this is still not a great deal, however, if you need to top off your United balance for that next award, then this would be a good time to do so and it looks like the 60% bonus may be reached by the end of the promotion so you can try your luck.
