You Don’t Need to be Old or Retired to use AARP Benefits

AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that gives valuable benefits, information and assistance mainly for the elderly and retired. However, membership is open to anyone who wants to join for a fee. The reason why I joined were for those little discounts that come along with the membership.

Specifically, I like the food and entertainment discounts they offer. I eat at one of these places at least once a week so why not save money in the process. Places include Landry’s Brand Restaurants, Outback, Papa Johns, Regal Cinemas, Denny’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc. Usually they have specific days of the week when you can get your discount. I usually stack this discount with coupons that many of these places offer like free appetizers to get even more savings!

They even have a travel deals section where you can save up to 20% off select brands. I’ve never used these and I’m not sure how good these deals are compared to other deals. I’m sure there are better deals out there but I guess you never know.

If you happen to get a membership, know that they won’t send you a physical card unless you are over 50. You will have to print it out. Have you used your AARP card and what for? I’m interested in knowing more options.
