Finally Got to Stay at Radisson Blu in Chicago!

I had read great reviews about the Radisson Blu Aqua hotel in Chicago and had to visit! I currently have the Club Carlson credit card which allows me to book 2 nights for the price of one so I scored this hotel for 50k points for the weekend. Also earlier in the year I had won Concierge status from a Points, Miles & Martini’s Golden giveaway so this also added to this great stay.

This hotel is located near Magnificent Mile and about half a mile from the orange line which is how I got to this hotel from Midway airport. Approaching the hotel you can see and appreciate the awesome architecture of the building. Upon arriving, I was told because of my status I was upgraded to a Business Class room with lounge access on the 17th floor. This hotel has 2 styles of rooms and I got the Mansion House style with teal blue carpets and a darker feel. What gave it that extra touch was a personalized note saying thank you for my loyalty and cookies waiting for me, yum!

Business Mansion House Style

The lounge was on the 17th floor so I took advantage of this for breakfast and in the evening. The lounge has a huge space and the breakfast was good with fruit and pastry options. The evening offerings I was not impressed with as they only served chips, popcorn, hard pretzels, brownie and wine/beer. I guess I’ve been spoiled with lounges that offered more variety.

What really impressed me with this hotel is the huge gym, outdoor and indoor pool and outdoor running track. Its hard not to be active on the go with these awesome amenities.

So Many Amenities!

This hotel is also about a 20 minute walk from Navy Pier and close to Millennium Park so there is no shortage of attractions!

Here is another review by Just Another Points Traveler that has more pictures of the bar area, architectural features, and the “Natural Cool” style.

  1. Cocktail hours include wine/beer? That’s awfully generous for an american hotel.

  2. Great hotel. I wanna! By the way the one time I went to Chicago I actually saw Dustin Hoffman walking on the street. Yep, I met the Focker!
