Updates on the 140k Ritz Carlton Card

Ritz-Carlton

I had previously written about the offline 140k Chase Ritz Carlton credit card and I wanted to share some updates on this card since I’ve applied and used it.

If you are wondering what this card it made of, its stainless steel and pretty thick. Some potential uses include scrapping ice off your car windshield or impressing your friends or your waiter/waitress at a restaurant 😉

If you don’t have a Ritz Carlton #, you can use your Marriott Rewards # and get these points deposited here instead.

If you have had or currently have the Marriott Chase card, you can still apply to this Ritz card and get Marriott  bonus points. Mine have already posted to my Marriott account.

Ritz 140k Bonus

Your club level upgrades will also be included in your Marriott account if you used this # instead of a Ritz Carlton # however, they can only be used for Ritz Carlton properties.

You get a $300 incidental airline credit per calender year but you have to call 1-855-896-2222 and speak to someone to get these refunded. All they ask is what you used it for and they will process a statement credit in a few days. Hint: I’ve had gift cards refunded…you just need to say that it is incidental related ei, lounge access, upgrade or baggage fee etc.

You will get a Lounge Club membership for you and a guest which can be used at any of there locations listed here regardless of who your flying and class of service. You need your Lounge Club card to access the clubs and it takes a few weeks for it to be mailed to you.

If you and a spouse are applying for this card, read the Miles Professors post on Marriott Vacation Packages as a great vacation option.

  1. How long did it take for you to get the 140,000 points in your account?

  2. When you bought the gift cards, how did you do it? Online, or at the airport, or…? Did you buy several small denominations or one $300 gift card? Do you think either of the above matters?

  3. how do the club upgrades work if deposited in Marriott account? Does that mean you use them at Marriott instead of Ritz, or still at Ritz?

Ok I just called Marriott and they said that these certificates are only good for Ritz Carlton properties. I’ll update my post

  4. Thanks for the link! And thanks for more useful updates especially on the gift cards – I know lots of people are interested in the 140k offer and the more knowledge on utilizing that $300 credit, the better 🙂 My parents will appreciate the info especially.

You are welcome! I’m waiting to see what else people have gotten reimbursed for such as different airline and different fees

  5. I hope the offer is available for my next churn

  6. Is this lounge club the standard Chase one where they charge 27 per entry and you get 2 free? Or is this one where the entrance fee is free as well?

  7. I was wondering if these points have an expiration and if you are able to cancel after a year?

Marriott website says that your points may expire after 24 months of no activity. And yes you can cancel the card after a year and you get to keep your points.
