How to Use a Hyatt Free Night Certificate

These free night certificates are obtained by having the Hyatt Chase Credit Card. There are 2 types of certificates that they offer. Ones which you can book at any Hyatt property in the world and the other are certificates where you can book at any Category 1-4 Hyatt Property. For both certificates, there needs to be award availability at the property for you to be able to book them. These also expire one year from when they are issued.

To use these certificates, you must log into your Hyatt account online, go to your account section, and go to My Awards on the left hand side of the screen. Here you will be able to see the award night certificates that you can use.

From here, click the Reserve button to start making a reservation. If you have the certificate that you can use at any property, then you can search for any one you want. If you have the Category 1-4 certificate then you can see if your hotel qualifies. Here are cat 1, cat 2, cat 3, and cat 4 properties for you to browse.

Select your hotel then select the desired room that is available.

Once you make your selection, you will be taken to a screen to enter all information including your credit card to hold the room. You then check the box at the bottom of the page accepting the cancellation and deposit policies and click submit. You will receive a reservation confirmation by email.

Simple enough! Make sure that you don’t let your certificate expire because you won’t be able to retrieve it after it does and these cannot be extended.

If you have 2 one night certificates to use in your account and are having trouble booking them, try booking one night at a time. This has been the solution to the problem in the past.
