Members who have Silver, Gold, or Concierge status will now be able to have discounts on food and beverages at participating hotels worldwide. Previously, the discounts only applied to in-hotel restaurants in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. It also looks like they increased the discount from 15% to 20% for Concierge status.

For Diamond and Platinum members:
Starting Feb 14, wi-fi will be available for free for all guest, so they increased the speed for elite members.

Beginning 3/9/15, Platinum Members who stay 50 or more nights will be able to choose one of the following:
1) 10 Suite Night Awards
2) Gift SPG Gold Status
3) 4 Free Uber rides (up to $25 each)
4) $100 Amazon Gift Card
5) $100 Unicef Donation
6) TSA Pre-Check Fee Waiver
Marriott
The hotel program will begin enforcing points expiration starting next year. For those members who haven’t had any activity for a while, this year would be a good time to earn a few points to keep them active. Lifetime Status members will be exempt from this expiration.
