Diving and Snorkeling in the Galapagos

Since I was staying on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos, I wanted to find a company that I could prebook online and I was only on the island for a couple of days so I wanted just a day trip. I was able to find Dive Center Academy Bay which offer dive and snorkel trips and their office is located right along Port Ayora.

Dive Trip

I did a Saturday dive at North Seymour for $180 and it includes 2 dives, all gear, and English speaking guides. It also includes a light breakfast (bread and cheese), lunch (we had shrimp, rice, and veggies), and snacks. The guides will also take photos of the dive but you must bring your own USB drive to upload the pics. When you book, you have to put down a 30% deposit and can pay with Paypal (with a 4% fee).

The day before your dive, you are required to come into the office so they can size you for your gear. The trip leaves early in the morning and they drive you to the other side of the island since North Seymour is north of the airport. Here are some of my dive pics:

Snorkel Trip

The same company offers day trips which can include snorkeling. They didn’t have prices on the website but I just emailed them to get prices. The tour that I did was the Santa Fe snorkel day trip and costed me $110 plus 4% fee for paying with credit card through PayPal.

This was probably my favorite out of the two trips because I got to swim real close to the seals and got some great underwater pics!
