The SPG American Express Personal and Business Card added new features to its card effective today which include:
- No Foreign Transaction Fees
- Unlimited Boingo Internet
- Sheraton Lounge Access (Business card holders only)
- Free Premium Internet at Starwood Hotels
Of course these new benefits also increased the annual fee from $65 to $95. So if you intend to use these benefits frequently, then it may be worth it to keep the card.
To sign up for unlimited Boingo Internet, you first go to this website and enter your credit card to verify eligibility.
On the next page, it will tell you that you are eligible and you will have to create a Boingo account. If you already have a Boingo account, you still have to create a new account.
After you create the account, you will have free unlimited Boingo! This plan is helpful for airports without free wifi or other Boingo hotspots throughout the world. It is also accessible on up to 4 devices.
If you don’t have the SPG Amex Personal or Business Card, they currently have an increased sign on bonus of 30k Starpoints after $5k spend in the first 3 months. The $95 annual fee is waived the first year. This link was taken directly from the Amex website. Offer ends 9/14/2015.
If you are unfamiliar with Starpoints, not only can you use them at SPG properties, but you can transfer them to a variety of airlines. If you transfer in increments of 20k points, you also get a 5k transfer bonus to your particular airline.
