Wyndham All-Inclusive Hotels with Points

The Wyndham group, with 16 brands and around 7,800 hotels, is one of the largest hotel chains in the world. Their award program is simple, redeem any hotel room with award availability for 15,000 points (Go Free Reward) per night.

Update: Unfortunately Wyndham changed the points structure and all inclusive resorts now require 30,000 points per night for double occupancy.

Luckily, Wyndham has an all-inclusive brand called Viva Wyndham where you are able to redeem points. There are currently 8 hotels in the brand and each has a variety of amenities that they offer. You can review them all in this chart —> All-Inclusive Viva Resorts Chart Jan 2017

These awards are bookable online or by calling a Wyndham representative at 1-866-996-7937.

Update: To find dates that are available for reservations, use the Viva Wyndham website and make a dummy booking for the resort and dates you are looking for. This brings up a calendar that shows available dates in green and non available dates in pink. You can use this information to go back to the Wyndham Rewards website to make an awards reservation.

**UPDATE**: All-Inclusives now only cover 2 persons when booking with points. Additional persons will be an extra fee. Children 3-12 yrs will be a certain fee while children 13+ are considered adults and will be charged a higher fee. The website does not reflect this change; however, conversations with agents as well as the comments below have confirmed extra charges imposed for more than 2 people staying in a room.

How to Obtain Wyndham Points

Wyndham offers credit cards through Barclays which offer bonus points after meeting minimum spends. These cards come with an annual fee but they do give you status which comes with its own perks. If you happen to be a Club Wyndham owner, your club points can be transferred to Wyndham points at a 1:.4 rate for a fee.

  1. We just came back from Wyndham Azteca – stayed there for 10 nights solely on points – Christmas/New Year week. The nice thing was that you’re getting automatic VIP status at the hotel – premium drinks, dedicated area on a beach, nicer rooms, etc.
We got great redemption value – 15000 points/night vs $600/night cash rate (and no surcharge for kids)

That’s super awesome! I have yet to stay at a Wyndham All-Inclusive but these are such great redemption values! Sounds like ya’ll had a fantastic time.

  2. Wyndham is a program that’s not on most people’s radars. Now that they introduced a “one-size-fits-all” pricing of 15,000 points per night, there is some great value in redeeming for their higher-end properties.

  3. Do you have to call to book the all inclusive? They are not coming up as bookable when we log in to our rewards. We are the highest tier level and want to book 7 or our 22 nights this April but cant figure out how!

Use this website http://vivaresorts.com/ and do a mock reservation for the hotel and dates you want. They actually come up with a calendar of available dates! This surely would have been useful on the actual Wyndham Rewards reservation page. Anyways, you can see the dates you want and go back to the Wyndham booking website to make a reservation with points. Hope this helps!

  4. By any chance, for 2 adults and 2 kids family, do they charge any extra $ when staying all-inclusive with the point redemption? or not. Thank you.

I just spoke to a representative and unfortunately they are updating their all inclusive policy where the room only includes 2 persons and children 3-12 yrs old will be an extra fee and children 13+ are considered adults and will be imposed a higher fee. Its frustrating that the website doesn’t reflect this change nor is it mentioned anywhere. The representative wasn’t sure when this was effective. I’ll update my post

  5. Are you limited to which room they’ll let you redeem points for? I’m only seeing the “Garden View” rooms and would love an ocean view….

    • Giddy for Points | October 3, 2017 at 9:45 am | Reply

You can only book the room that is available online. You may be able to ask for a complimentary upgrade prior or at check in if you have status but not guaranteed.

I booked 4 nights at Viva Wyndham Azteca and the next morning I got an email from them saying I have to pay $27 per child per night according to their policy. We are 2 adults and 2 kids and they want $216 for the 2 kids. Any number over 2 pay $27 for kids!!! Was this changed recently? As late as August of this month, people were not paying that from the comment above.

    • Giddy for Points | October 3, 2017 at 9:55 am | Reply

No where on the website does it specify that you have to pay extra for kids. If you booked a double bed room, you should be allowed to have 4 people stay there. I would call wyndham rewards to verify/complain. How old are the kids staying there?

Thank you for the reply, my kids are 4 and 9. See the copy of the email from them below.

Thank you very much for your help. Really appreciate that you take time to contact them and get the information. I contacted them by email many times and they keep on saying only 2 guests are free. This was never mentioned while I was booking the room at all. So bad

          • Giddy for Points | October 5, 2017 at 4:25 pm |

Another example of an undisclosed devaluation. Thank you for bringing this to my attention as well
