I’m sure many of ya’ll have been watching the news about the destruction caused by one of the worst floodings in more than a century in the US. I thank ya’ll for the messages and prayers and support many of you have sent and I can’t say enough of the people that have pulled together to help one another in this dire time of need.<\/p>\n

I wanted to share some updates of ways you can still help and general information about Houston.<\/p>\n

Ways to Donate<\/strong><\/p>\n

Houston Food Bank<\/a> is a non profit org that is accepting donations and is in need of volunteers.<\/p>\n

Houston Diaper Bank<\/a> is a non profit org that is accepting monetary and diaper donations.<\/p>\n

Austin Diaper Bank<\/a> is a non profit org that is accepting monetary and diaper donations. You can even order on Amazon to be delivered to their location. These diapers will help aid Hurricane Harvey victims.<\/p>\n

Gallery Furniture owner Jim Mcingvale \u00a0aka “Mattress Mack” has opened up his furniture store to house victims. He set up an Amazon wish <\/a>list for you to buy cleaning supplies to be given to victims. This is not a non profit and items make take a while to arrive due to limited delivery but are much needed.<\/p>\n

Airports<\/strong><\/p>\n

IAH and HOU<\/a> have opened with limited service available. Southwest Airlines has suspended service <\/a>at HOU and will resume with limited service on Sept 2.<\/p>\n

Donate Points<\/strong><\/p>\n

Various hotel chains, airlines and credit cards have the option of donating points for\u00a0various causes.<\/p>\n

For people in need of urgent accommodations, Airbnb<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0waiving service fees for those affected by the disaster and checking in between August 23, 2017 and September 25, 2017. Many hosts are offering free stays in affected areas.<\/p>\n

Banks<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many banks are waiving many types of fees for those in affected areas including<\/p>\n

Bank of America<\/a><\/p>\n

Chase Bank<\/a><\/p>\n

Wellsfargo<\/a><\/p>\n

Passport<\/strong><\/p>\n

Houston Passport Agency <\/a>is closed until Sept 4, 2017 so expect major delays.<\/p>\n
