One of the many great features of Chase credit cards was its price protection benefit which allowed you\u00a0to receive a reimbursement<\/a> for the difference between the purchase price and a newly advertised price for items bought in the US within a 90 day period. This was great as there was frequently price drops for many of my items purchased.<\/p>\n

Sadly this option is no longer available for Chase cards as of August 26, 2018. So what are my current options now for price protection?<\/p>\n

Discover Card<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Discover has this benefit but unfortunately this will be discontinued on October 31, 2018. Purchases made prior to this date will be covered and they will refund a price difference up to $500 on eligible items and you have 90 days to file a claim. Claims can be made by calling\u00a01-800-DISCOVER\u00a0 and you must submit the receipt, a copy of the dated lower price ad and copy of the charge on the card.<\/p>\n

Citi Cards<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When you purchase eligible items with your personal Citi Card, you have 60 days to register your item on their website<\/a>.\u00a0 You must enter the purchase details and upload the receipt. Citi will then look for a lower price for your eligible item. If one is found within 60 days of purchase, they will send you an email and you will have to submit a benefit request. You can get a statement credit or check of the difference between the purchase price and the lower cost found up to $200 per item and a max of $1000 per year.<\/p>\n

Paribus<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

I have previously written about the website Paribus<\/a> which monitors your shopping and sends emails to select merchants on your behalf to request price adjustment refunds.<\/p>\n
