What is your favorite credit card? –
There are so many great credit cards out there for use in the miles and points area.
I personally use the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and the Citi Prestige as my primary go to travel cards. I also have a Capital One card but it does not earn points that can be transferred so I generally don’t consider it as a valuable travel credit card.
I find the Chase Sapphire Preferred card to be the best every day card as it earns 2 points on all travel and dining purchases. It also currently offers an additional point per dollar on dining on the first Friday. That benefit is going away next year though.
The reason I like the Chase card the most is the fact that the points are very valuable as they can be transferred to an airline from each alliance so they can be used for multiple airlines for miles. In addition, the points can be transferred to Hyatt and several other options as well.
The card frequently has generous bonus points for signing up for the card so a lot of bloggers have been able to each a lot of points that way.
I also like the transfer ability on the Citi Prestige card as well as their fourth night free benefit which credits back the fourth night of a consecutive hotel stay. Although I recently wrote about problems I have been encountering with getting the credit to post for a recent stay: Citi Prestige Fourth Night Free Benefit Not Crediting. Fortunately shortly after the blog post went live, the credit posted to me account!
The Citi Prestige Card also offers American Airlines lounge access when you fly American and it offers a great Priority Pass membership as well.
Other people love the American Express card particularly the SPG one as it has great transfer partners (nearly every airline). In addition, the fact that the some of the cards offer access to the Centurion Lounge which some say is one of the best airport lounge options.
