{"id":17,"date":"2015-09-07T13:28:58","date_gmt":"2015-09-07T13:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/milespointsreselling.com\/?p=17"},"modified":"2016-02-14T08:32:20","modified_gmt":"2016-02-14T16:32:20","slug":"reselling-attempt-no-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/2015\/09\/07\/reselling-attempt-no-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Reselling Attempt No. 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Note: \u00a0For my first series of posts I thought I would bring over all the reselling posts I made over on Portlandtraveltips.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ok, so I finally got around to taking another crack at reselling. \u00a0Hopefully this works out better than my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portlandtraveltips.com\/2015\/05\/23\/update-on-reselling-attempt-and-lack-of-blog-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\">first attempt<\/a>. \u00a0I&#8217;m feeling pretty confident in this one. \u00a0Here is the deal breakdown. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday I was kicking myself in the pants for having not caught the Black Friday in July sale that Best Buy had over the weekend. They were selling iPad Air 2s with a\u00a0$125 discount . When you combine that with an Amex offer of $25 off $250 at best buy it is a winner. \u00a0Well by time I noticed they were sold out.<\/p>\n<p>Today, when I got an email about a Cyber Monday in July sale, I jumped on it. \u00a0iPad Air 2s were not on sale but iPad Air&#8217;s were. \u00a0They were $100 off. \u00a0I was also able to take advantage of the same Amex offer and I had a 10% off coupon. \u00a0The deal broke down as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchase Price = $244.99<\/li>\n<li>Best Buy Rewards = 269<\/li>\n<li>Alaska Air Miles (I used shopping portal) = 538<\/li>\n<li>Amex &#8220;Old&#8221; Blue Cash points (.5%) = 134<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>About the Blue Cash points. \u00a0This month we got the Amex &#8220;Old&#8221; Blue Cash card. This card will earn 5% cash back on gas and groceries after spending $6500. Ordinarily I would not have used that card for this purchase. \u00a0However, this purchase put us over the $6500 mark. \u00a0So moving forward we will get 5% cash back on all gas and grocery purchases.<\/p>\n<p>How much do I hope to earn in profit? \u00a0Currently this iPad is selling on Amazon for $365. After Amazon takes their commission I hope to earn $338. \u00a0That is a profit of $93, plus 538 Alaska miles, $2.69 in Best Buy Rewards, and triggering my 5% cash back bonus on the Blue Cash card. \u00a0Not too shabby for about 30 minutes work this morning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note: \u00a0For my first series of posts I thought I would bring over all the reselling posts I made over on Portlandtraveltips.
