{"id":1783,"date":"2016-10-17T06:51:19","date_gmt":"2016-10-17T13:51:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/?p=1783"},"modified":"2016-10-16T07:24:15","modified_gmt":"2016-10-16T14:24:15","slug":"fba-charging-sellers-customer-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/2016\/10\/17\/fba-charging-sellers-customer-service\/","title":{"rendered":"FBA Charging Some Sellers for Customer Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon is\u00a0making a lot of changes lately to its FBA program. \u00a0Among the highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Flipping\/comments\/4zm6qw\/amazon_is_gating_many_popular_brands_and_charging\/\">Charging astronomical fees to ungate some products<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/saverocity.com\/taggingmiles\/major-change-amazons-customer-review-policy\/\">Discontinued incentivized reviews<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dannydealguru.com\/2016\/10\/11\/amazon-limits-warehouse-access-to-new-merchants-ahead-of-holiday-season\/\">Restricting\u00a0some sellers access to FBA warehouses during Q4<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recently, I discovered that Amazon is now charging some sellers $10 per phone call or online chat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/files\/2016\/10\/Screen-Shot-2016-10-16-at-7.22.03-AM.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1788\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/files\/2016\/10\/Screen-Shot-2016-10-16-at-7.22.03-AM.png\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-10-16-at-7-22-03-am\" width=\"662\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/\/sites\/75\/2016\/10\/Screen-Shot-2016-10-16-at-7.22.03-AM.png 596w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/milespointsreselling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/\/sites\/75\/2016\/10\/Screen-Shot-2016-10-16-at-7.22.03-AM-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 662px) 100vw, 662px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It looks like this fee is limited to those sellers who are on individual selling plans. \u00a0Those who pay $40 per month for the professional selling plan are not being charged for customer service. \u00a0The good news, I guess, is that email is still free.<\/p>\n<p>I am still on the individual selling plan. \u00a0I find this change to be particularly annoying. \u00a0It is not uncommon for Amazon to\u00a0lose shipments. \u00a0My preferred method of alerting them is via online chat. When I was forced to send them an email recently\u00a0it was not nearly as smooth as online chat.<\/p>\n<p>Should I switch to a professional selling plan? \u00a0For now, no. \u00a0When you are on an individual selling plan Amazon charges you an additional $.99 for each item. \u00a0Once you are selling 40 items per month it makes sense to switch over to the professional plan because folks on that plan are not charged the extra $.99.<\/p>\n<p>While there are other benefits to the professional plan, and now you can add not being charged for customer service, it is still not worth it to me.<\/p>\n<p>I am pretty busy between my day job and 3 young kids. \u00a0There are some months where I don&#8217;t sell any product. \u00a0I have the time to do FBA here and there to meet minimum spending needs or earn a few extra hundred dollars a month. \u00a0But the amount of time it would take me to sell 40 items every month is not worth it. \u00a0I enjoy my amateur status and learning how this business works. \u00a0 For now I will continue to keep it that way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon is\u00a0making a lot of changes lately to its FBA program. \u00a0Among the highlights include: Charging astronomical fees to ungate some products Discontinued incentivized reviews&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":95,"featured_media":1786,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.13 -
