Guarulhos International Airport GOL Smiles VIP Lounge

Since I was flying from GRU-SCL on TAM Airlines in economy as a Star Alliance Silver, I did not get any lounge invitation passes. I knew there was an American Airlines Lounge inside GRU, but I had no access to it since I am not an Admiral’s Club member and was not flying on an oneworld carrier. Next to the American Airlines Admiral’s Club in GRU was the Smiles GOL Lounge which accepted Priority Pass membership. I have Priority Pass Select membership through my American Express Platinum card.

The lounge was fairly empty since it was really early in the morning at GRU airport.

A few snacks were available along with empanadas and quiches.

If you’re into beverages, there is a huge selection to choose from.

There is a particular drink called Caipi One made in Brazil that has real fruits infused with vodka. I like the “Deep Red” flavor.

The food wasn’t anything to write home about, but the Caipi One drink definitely sets apart this lounge from others.

The Wi-Fi was fast and there were a lot of electrical outlets to charge your devices. I’ve been to the nearby Admiral’s Club before and found it really busy with paltry food helpings as well. I would suggest the GOL Lounge if you have access since it is generally quieter.
