An Unconventional Way to Book a Cheap Hilton Hotel Room

A few days ago, I was going through my iPhone and deleting unused and underutilized apps. I was about to delete an app called “HotelTonight” since I had only used it a few times.

The founders of HotelTonight created the app solely for the purpose of “hooking up” late after dark. Say you’re at a bar late at night and you somehow get lucky. Well, you’re going to need a hotel tonight. That’s where the idea was born.

It was late at night and I had a few drinks and decided to go through a bunch of cities before finding a gem. I was searching in Las Vegas and found that the DoubleTree by Hilton Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel was going for $33 a night. After taxes, it comes out to $37.

This is a complete bargain since I recently stayed at the Tropicana three months ago for $55 a night. Bear in mind that you can receive your Hilton HHonors Gold/Diamond benefits if you call the hotel to add your Hilton HHonors number after your make your booking. If you want elite night/stay credit, I suggest you charge $10 or more to your room for it to trigger. The resort fee can be waived by complaining about the Wi-Fi during your stay or during checkout.

There were many other hotels way below the posted room rates such as the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa Hotel (Part 1 Review, Part 2 Review) for $74 where I stayed this past New Years Eve.

If you book the Westin Lake Las Vegas, you can also receive Starwood Gold/Platinum benefits if you call the hotel to add your Starwood Preferred guest number after your booking. I wrote a guide on How To Receive Elite Benefits on a Starwood Third Party Reservation.

Be aware that the hotels are only bookable at noon local time and the last hour to book is at 2am local time. HotelTonight is only available as apps on the Android and iPhone.

If you’re new to HotelTonight, you can use my referral code JNG18 and receive $25 off (no minimum) on your first hotel booking! Check out http://hoteltonight.com/now

Disclosure: If you sign-up with my referral code JNG18 and book your first hotel room, I will also receive $25 of HotelTonight credits. Thank you for your support.

  1. thanks for the app!
sneaky bastards dont include the taxes in the prices. the $25 initial credit barely covers these taxes.

“The founders of HotelTonight created the app solely for the purpose of “hooking up” late after dark.”…i didnt see anything to substantiate this claim.

“I was about to delete an app called “HotelTonight” since I had only used it a few times.”…as in you were about the get laid a few times? wonderful.

“This is a complete bargain since I recently stayed at the Tropicana three months ago for $55 a night.”..recently, 3 months ago. hmmm.

“hotels are only bookable at noon local time and the last hour to book is at 2am local time”..so that means you cant only book between noon on day X & 2am on day Y for a stay which will require a check out on day Y? (assuming you book 1 night)

    thanks

Maybe, but not guaranteed, and definitely not within the T&Cs.
