Marriott Tijuana Hotel Review Part 1

I decided to stay at the Marriott Tijuana hotel in Baja California, Mexico because of the Megabonus promotion. For every two stays, I would receive a free category 1-5 night at any Marriott in the world. This property is consistently $89 on a AAA rate which is a complete bargain for a full service Marriott. My Marriott Platinum status was expiring at the beginning of December (due to a status challenge), so I had a chance to utilize my Platinum benefits for the last time.

The hotel was an 8 minute drive from the San Ysidro border. Free overnight parking with unlimited in and out privileges are provided for guests. I checked into the hotel in the afternoon and asked if there were any suite upgrades. The front desk agent told me there were no suites available, but happily placed me in the Club Floor because I was a Platinum guest. He also handed me free WiFi codes for my devices which is also free for Platinums.

The standard room was small, yet function, basic, and luxurious at the same time. The room consisted of a King bed, TV, workdesk, and a small sitting area with two chairs.

I had a welcome amenity waiting for me in the room which was a small piece of cake and a chocolate covered strawberry.

The bathroom was small and consisted of a sink with aromatherapy bath products. Two complimentary bottles of water were also placed in the sink area.

There was also a bathtub with a standing shower and a toilet.

The best part about the room was the amazing day and night views of Zona Rio which is the financial district.
