As a Starwood Platinum Guest Platinum member, I had chosen breakfast as my welcome amenity. Breakfast was held at the W Taipei’s hotel main lobby restaurant called The Kitchen Table. As with most Asian Starwood hotels, the buffet spread is very international and not your average American breakfast.

I headed to the Kitchen Table at 6:30am in the morning when it opened and I was the very first guest.
The hot selections included fried rice, noodles, Chinese vegetables, sausage, bacon, fish, chicken, Eggs Benedict, and quiche.
Other hot selections included broccoli, mushrooms, asparagus, baked beans, soup, pancakes, waffles, fried Chinese donut, and congee porridge (jook).
There was also a noodle station available in addition to an omelet station where you can order eggs any style.
In addition, there was a dim sum station with shrimp har gow and sweet bun.
There was also a Japanese station featuring cold soba noodles, assorted sushi, and miso soup with Japanese condiments.
There was also a cured meat and cheese selection along with various cold items.
There was also a salad bar station along with an assorted fruit selection.
There was also a bread station featuring assorted breads and pastries.
Lastly, there was a large gelato and ice cream selection for dessert.
Beverages included coffee, tea, milk, and various juices. Soft drinks can be ordered with the waiter and they are complimentary.
I’m a big eater and I had a little bit of everything and finished it off with chocolate ice cream. Yes, ice cream for breakfast.
I spent a hefty 20,000 Starpoints for an award redemption at the W Taipei Hotel and it was worth every Starpoint. Platinum recognition was amazing from the start and I loved how the hotel offers unlimited complimentary cocktails for Platinum members (even Golds too!). The Marvelous Suite was spectacular and the bathroom was simply stunning. I could literally spend all day in my room in the bathtub watching TV while looking at views of the Taipei skyline.
The breakfast at the W Taipei hotel’s Kitchen Table restaurant was simply amazing and everything tasted fresh. You can’t go wrong with ice cream for breakfast and the service was great. The location of the hotel was ideal as well since it’s only a 2 minute walk to the Taipei City Hall MRT station and you can get around easily. I highly recommend the W Taipei hotel and would return in a heartbeat.
