I’ve been to Sao Paulo many times and I’m always on the lookout to explore new neighborhoods. I had the opportunity to check out Rua Augusta (Augusta Street) just by luck because I stayed at the nearby Augusta Boulevard Sao Paulo Hotel during the World Cup.

Rua Augusta was once known as a dangerous neighborhood as you can see by the graffiti, but now it’s been gentrified.
There are a ton of boutique shops on Rua Augusta. You can pretty much call Augusta Street a hipster’s paradise for the young and fashionable.
I went into a pop up shop on Rua Augusta which had a beautiful art installation on display.
One of my favorite bakeries in Sao Paulo is called Bella Paulista which has some of the most amazing Brazilian foods.
Rua Augusta really comes to life at night and young people flock to various bars and restaurants (overflowing the streets) until the wee hours of the night.
You can even purchase alcohol from a street vendor!
