During the three nights and four days I spent in Singapore, I pretty much tried to eat as much as I possibly could. Singapore is known as foodie heaven and it surely impressed me. I previously wrote about Hawker Center Food Stalls in Singapore<\/a>\u00a0which was quite lengthy with over 60 pictures, so this is a condensed version with additional food pictures I did not eat in a hawker center.<\/p>\n

Singapore\u2019s most famous hawker center food stall is Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken, which is basically chicken over rice. Be aware that the lines go crazy at Maxwell Food Centre, but there are other locations in Singapore if you don’t want to wait that long.<\/p>\n

I did not particularly like Tian Tian\u2019s chicken rice dish because the chicken was served cold. I prefer the hot, roasted chicken rice version which I found in a restaurant in the Geylang neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Char (Fried) Kway Teow is another local favorite dish which is basically stir fry rice cake strips. The best Char Kway Teow I had was from Zion Riverside Food Centre.<\/p>\n

The runner up Fried Kway Teow dish was from Marina South at Maxwell Food Centre.<\/p>\n

Another dish to try in Singapore is fish ball noodle soup.<\/p>\n

There are many varieties of noodle soup and you should also try prawn noodle soup.<\/p>\n

You can also have your noodles \u201cdry\u201d without the broth and it\u2019s equally as good.<\/p>\n

Noodles are so much better with an egg on top.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re familiar with Chinese porridge (jook), you can also find the Singaporean version of congee at the hawker center food stalls.<\/p>\n

You can find authentic Indian food in Little India and Biryani is the main dish at Tekka Centre\u2019s hawker food stalls.<\/p>\n

Another great Indian dish to try is the Roti Prata Egg where you dip it in a vegetable soup.<\/p>\n

Satay stalls can be found near Lau Pa Sat hawker center, but they were closed when I went. Lau Pa Sat is fully renovated and the nearby satay stalls should be open now. I had to opt for satay at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove hotel<\/a> which was delicious.<\/p>\n

You haven\u2019t been to Singapore until you\u2019ve tried a bowl of authentic Laksa from 328 Katong Laksa. It\u2019s amazingly delicious and hands down the best laksa I\u2019ve ever had.<\/p>\n

The best beverage to wash down hawker center food is the refreshing iced tea. You can get this from any beverage vendor in the hawker center and it\u2019s often house made.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t go wrong with ordering milk tea as well.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s even better with milk tea is adding tapioca which makes it boba milk tea.<\/p>\n

Fresh sugar cane juice can also be found all throughout Singapore.<\/p>\n

Soya (soybean) milk is huge in Singapore, so don\u2019t leave without trying one. Mr. Bean has the best soya milk in Singapore.<\/p>\n
