I had a six hour layover after landing in Tokyo\u2019s Narita International Airport before departing for my flight to Los Angeles. A short layover at NRT isn\u2019t enough to venture out into Tokyo city center because it\u2019s an hour away without traffic. Thankfully, Narita town in Chiba is only a short 10 minute train ride from Narita airport. This would be my second time in Narita and I fully knew what to expect, but I hadn\u2019t visited in three years.<\/p>\n

The quickest and most efficient way to get to Narita town is by taking the Keisei Main Line to Keisei Narita station and it\u2019s only one stop from Terminal 2 of NRT airport.<\/p>\n

There are left luggage lockers at Keisei Narita station for your convenience. I\u2019ve used these before and they can fit a carry on without a problem.<\/p>\n

It was really early in the morning and merchants weren\u2019t open yet.<\/p>\n

The only thing open was the FamilyMart convenience store and the local newspaper stand.<\/p>\n

There is also a plethora of vending machines serving beverages and cigarettes.<\/p>\n

Within walking distance of Keisei Narita Station is the JR Narita Station which connects with the massive train network in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

You can get around Narita town by car, taxi, bike, or bus.<\/p>\n

\"sightsnarita11\"<\/a> \"sightsnarita12\"<\/a> \"sightsnarita13\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I prefer good old fashion walking when I\u2019m in Narita town.<\/p>\n

The great thing about Narita town is that there is free Wi-Fi available which makes it very convenient for accessing the internet.<\/p>\n

There weren\u2019t many shops open at this hour, but I did find one that was selling souvenirs.<\/p>\n

There are also various temples in Narita town.<\/p>\n

I was heading down the hill towards the famous Naritasan Shinsho Temple.<\/p>\n

At the entrance of the Naritasan Shinsho Temple, you can find vendors.<\/p>\n

Before entering the temple, there is a well of water for cleansing.<\/p>\n

This is the view of the Sanmon gate entrance to the Buddhist temple.<\/p>\n

After spending some time at the Naritasan Shinsho Temple, I was exhausted and headed back to the Keisei Narita Station towards Narita International Airport Terminal 2.<\/p>\n
