Previously I\u2019ve written about the Plaza de Mayo in the Monserrat neighborhood<\/a> of Buenos Aires. Although it might seem identical and redundant, this is written for continuation of my trip report. The Plaza de Mayo area is basically a government square and also a public place for protests since this is where the presidential palace is located.<\/p>\n

Plaza de Mayo is a great focal point in Buenos Aires to meet a friend and hang out in the public green space.<\/p>\n

The Plaza de Mayo area is circular and contains churches and government buildings.<\/p>\n

There is also a huge police presence equipped with riot gear and a mobile police command center onsite.<\/p>\n

The main focal point of Plaza de Mayo is the Presidential Palace, also called the Casa Rosada.<\/p>\n

I wanted to head back to my hotel in Retiro by taking the Subte subway at Catedral station, but it was closed during the worst time of the hour which was rush hour in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n

This caused panic with the local Argentines since they depend on the Subte public transportation people mover subway system. I made two videos on what it\u2019s like when a major subway station in Buenos Aires is shut down:<\/p>\n
