As I\u2019ve said previously, the Sheraton Barra hotel is no longer in the Starwood portfolio and I am reviewing it for trip report continuity purposes only. The hotel is now called the Radisson Barra Rio de Janeiro Hotel. Part 1 of this review<\/a> focused on the one bedroom suite and Part 2 (this review) will focus on the Sheraton Club Lounge and lobby restaurant for breakfast.<\/p>\n

After settling down in my suite, I decided to use the drink voucher and redeem for a free caipirinha at the lobby bar. This is the national drink of Brazil and it\u2019s amazingly delicious.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, I headed to the Club Lounge for evening appetizers.<\/p>\n

The buffet spread consisted of empanadas, mini pizzas, mini sandwiches, small bites, figs, and dried fruit.<\/p>\n

There was also a beverage area with water, soft drinks, and wine.<\/p>\n

I had a little bit of everything and washed it down with a Guarana.<\/p>\n

Breakfast was held in the hotel\u2019s lobby restaurant which was complimentary for Starwood Platinum members. I could\u2019ve also had breakfast at the Sheraton Club Lounge as well, but the restaurant offerings are usually better and contain a larger variety.<\/p>\n

The buffet spread consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes with cheese, pao de queijo, and waffles.<\/p>\n

There were also cold deli meats, cheeses, and fresh fruit.<\/p>\n

I had a little bit of everything from the hot selections which was delicious. I love Brazilian breakfasts.<\/p>\n

I was disappointed to learn that the Sheraton Barra has left the Starwood Hotels brand and hopefully I could return to this property in the future which is now called the Radisson Barra Rio de Janeiro hotel. The location is pretty far from Centro Rio de Janeiro, but I had no problem commuting via the public bus through Sao Conrado, Gavea and Rochina to get to the city center.<\/p>\n
