A few months ago, there was a promotion where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delta.com\/content\/www\/en_US\/skymiles\/use-miles\/award-travel\/airlines-and-mileage-charts.html\" target=\"_blank\">award flights on Delta Air Lines to Latin America were reduced<\/a>. I booked the round-trip flight using 30,000 Delta Air Lines Skymiles in economy coach class and I got upgraded to business class due to my Gold Medallion status. One of the great benefits of being a Gold Medallion and above is that you can receive complimentary upgrades on award tickets which is fabulous.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be flying non-stop from LAX-SAL-LAX.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2014\/10\/laxsaldelta.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14317\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2014\/10\/laxsaldelta.gif\" alt=\"laxsaldelta\" width=\"720\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really excited about this trip since my goal for the next few years is to explore every country in Latin America. Ever since <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2014\/09\/12\/10-things-learned-recent-trip-costa-rica-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">my recent trip to Costa Rica<\/a>, I fell in love with the beautiful Central American beaches, lush rainforests, and picturesque sceneries. <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2014\/03\/20\/like-asian-american-latin-south-america\/\" target=\"_blank\">I love being able to speak Spanish<\/a> in a foreign country as well because I can get a local&#8217;s insight of what El Salvador is really like.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be driving in El Salvador and hopefully I won&#8217;t be <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2014\/06\/05\/experience-giving-bribe-money-corrupt-police-officer-panama-city\/\" target=\"_blank\">giving bribe money to a cop<\/a> and won&#8217;t get <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2014\/06\/18\/held-knifepoint-rio-de-janeiro-world-cup-brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\">held up at knifepoint<\/a> in San Salvador.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow me<\/strong>\u00a0on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jamucsb\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/jamucsb\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a><\/strong> for live-updates on my adventure this week to El Salvador!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight, I&#8217;m headed on a red-eye flight to El Salvador where I&#8217;ll be spending the week in the San Salvador area.
