Full service luxury hotels in Taipei are really pricey and I managed to pick the Taipei Garden Hotel based on good reviews, city center location, and price. I stayed at the Taipei Garden hotel for two nights and the room was going for $150+ tax a night. I took a public bus from Taipei International Airport (TPE) to Yuanshan MRT station where I ended up changing lines at Taipei Main Station to get to Ximen MRT station. From Ximen metro station, I walked to the Taipei Garden Hotel and the entire journey from the airport to the hotel took an hour.<\/p>\n

The front desk agent informed me that my room wasn\u2019t ready at noon and that I needed to come back at check-in time which was at 3pm. I left my bags with the front desk and wandered around the nearby Ximending neighborhood for a few hours before returning back to check in.<\/p>\n

I booked a city view room which is basically a standard room at the hotel. The modern contemporary room was small and contained a mounted flat screen TV, two leather chairs, executive desk, and a King size bed.<\/p>\n

The bathroom was also modern and consisted of a single basin sink with toiletries, hair dryer, deep soaking bathtub and separate standing shower.<\/p>\n

The best part about the room was the amazing city view of Taipei where I could see the famous Taipei 101 building.<\/p>\n

Overall, I really liked the Taipei Garden hotel since it\u2019s very close to the Xiaonanmen MRT station (3 minute walk) and Ximen MRT station (10 minute walk). There\u2019s a very close large Carrefour store where you can buy practically anything from groceries to car tires! In addition, there\u2019s no shortage of places to eat around the hotel. I would definitely stay here next time if I\u2019m ever in Taipei, Taiwan again.<\/p>\n
