During my unexpected layover in Japan<\/a> and failed attempt to visit the Tsukiji Fish Auction<\/a> in the morning, I had to find alternative plans. Since it was my first time in Tokyo, I wanted to check out as many different neighborhoods as I could. My first stop was the vibrant\u00a0Shibuya neighborhood with the infamous \u2018Shibuya Crossing\u2019.<\/p>\n

From the First Inn Kyobashi Tokyo Capsule Hotel<\/a>, I walked over to the Ginza district to take the subway to Shibuya. I took the Ginza Line from Ginza Station to Shibuya Station which took a total of 16 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Shibuya neighborhood is mostly concentrated on fashion with lots of multi-story shopping malls for young people.<\/p>\n

There are also shops and restaurants hidden in the small alleyways.<\/p>\n

Lots of Westernized fast food shops and restaurants are also present such as Chicago\u2019s famous Garrett Popcorn.<\/p>\n

Nightlife for young adults is also concentrated in Shibuya such as karaoke bars.<\/p>\n

The most famous attraction in Shibuya is the \u201cShibuya Crossing\u201d where all cars stop in every direction for pedestrians. I was at Shibuya Crossing at 8am in the morning so there wasn\u2019t a throng of people crossing the street at the same time. Other cameramen were also there trying to capture the essence of Tokyo.<\/p>\n
