The Shinjuku district is a commercial area of Tokyo with many administrative governmental buildings. My visit to the Shinjuku neighborhood was very brief, so this isn\u2019t a comprehensive list of things to do in Shinjuku.<\/p>\n

Instead of taking the Tokyo metro subway from Harajuku Station<\/a> to Shinjuku Station, I opted to walk since it wasn\u2019t that far. It was a 30 minute walk from Harajuku<\/a> to Shibuya Station, but it only takes 5 minutes by subway on the Yamanote Line.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty of shopping to be had near Shinjuku Station such as Forever 21 and large shopping mall called Takashimaya Times Square which features a large department store, Takashimaya.<\/p>\n

Shinjuku is also famous for housing Shinjuku Station, the busiest train station in the world.<\/p>\n

Aside from the mega malls, I found the small side streets of Shinjuku to be much more interesting.<\/p>\n

There is an endless amount of noodle shops, ramen restaurants, and cafes.<\/p>\n

One of the most interesting shops in Shinjuku was an arcade called SEGA which had coin operated \u2018pay per play\u2019 machines.<\/p>\n

Many of the machines were claw games where you can win various prizes such as a stuffed animal (in this case, Ted).<\/p>\n
