After my flight landed at Charlotte International Airport (CLT) from Rio de Janeiro, I had a short two and a half hour layover in CLT airport before my flight to Los Angeles. After clearing US customs, I hung out at the US Airways Club (now called the Admirals Club)<\/a> to kill some time before my flight to LAX.<\/p>\n

US Airways 2085 (US2085) was scheduled to depart from Charlotte International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport (CLT-LAX) at 9:50am Eastern time and get into Los Angeles at 11:57am Pacific time.<\/p>\n

The US Airways Airbus A321 First Class cabin was in a 2-2 configuration and I chose an aisle seat.<\/p>\n

There was no pre-departure beverage served on this transcontinental flight.<\/p>\n

After the flight reached cruising altitude, the flight attendant passed out a packaged savory snack mix in a bag which I thought was quite tacky. I was also served a beverage of my choice and I decided to not have any alcohol on this flight, so I had a coke with lime. The flight attendant forgot the lime, but I didn\u2019t bother to have her correct it.<\/p>\n

Meal service began and I had the chicken entr\u00e9e which basically came all in one serving tray. Lunch consisted of a Mediterranean salad, deviled eggs, and chicken served with mashed potatoes and corn. The chicken was great and went well with the mashed potatoes and corn. The Greek salad was flavorful and the deviled eggs were a delicious surprise as I\u2019ve never seen that served onboard an aircraft.<\/p>\n

Dessert was served afterwards and consisted of a cake which was delicious.<\/p>\n

An hour before the flight was scheduled to land at LAX Airport, the flight attendant went through the cabin and offered assorted snacks from a basket.<\/p>\n

I had actually flown the exact same route\u00a0earlier last year<\/a> and had a better experience with a pre-departure beverage and a hot wet towel being offered. On this flight, I was not offered a pre-departure beverage or a hot wet towel before my meal. Another difference on this flight is that I was offered a packaged savory snack mix in a bag which was quite messy on the hands. I\u2019m sure they do serve hot mixed nuts now on this same exact flight, but the service is quite hit or miss on this transcontinental route.<\/p>\n
