Last year, I took an 11 day trip to the Middle East visiting several emirates in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah) and Oman during the hot summer month of August. I booked a one-way flight on Etihad Airways from Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi in First Class using 90,000 American Airlines miles and $6 worth of taxes. On my return flight, I booked a one-way flight on Turkish Airlines from Dubai to Frankfurt with a long layover in Istanbul and an overnight layover in Frankfurt before continuing on Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Los Angeles in Economy Class. I booked this flight using only 40,000 United Airlines miles and $96.50 worth of taxes.<\/p>\n

We all shared the costs of the rental car and hotel rooms which made the Middle East quite inexpensive.
