Deira is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Dubai and it\u2019s located north of downtown Dubai<\/a>. Downtown Deira is the commercial district where you can find shopping malls, plazas, cafes, and restaurants. The Deira neighborhood is authentic Dubai and is really one of the best kept secrets since very few tourists venture out here.<\/p>\n

We drove to the Al Rigga district of downtown Deira where we had a hard time finding a parking spot. A lot of cars were double parked as well.<\/p>\n

I finally found a parking spot and once we got out of the car, it was sweltering hot. It was 1:30pm in the afternoon and thankfully parking is free in Dubai from 1pm-4pm. We just had to make a mental note to get back to the car before 4pm.<\/p>\n

Downtown Deira is quite desolate during the summer time, but there are still quite a number of people walking out on a hot sunny afternoon.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for inexpensive and authentic Arabic clothing, downtown Deira is your best bet because there are a plethora of textile shops.<\/p>\n

You can also find inexpensive household goods and children\u2019s toys on the small side street shops.<\/p>\n

In addition, you can also find inexpensive electronics, watches and cell phones for sale in downtown Deira.<\/p>\n
