I booked a $189 fare from LAX-DTW-ATL-MTY-ATL-LAX for a total of 6,690 miles. I would be getting 6,690 MQM\u2019s (Medallion Qualification Miles) at a rate of 2.8 cents per mile. I invoked Delta\u2019s Same Day Confirmed policy<\/a> and stayed overnight in Detroit and it\u00a0suddenly\u00a0became a multi-city mileage run. While in Detroit, I drove into Canada and was almost arrested at the border<\/a>. I stayed one night at the Sheraton Ambassador Hotel in Monterrey, Mexico and walked throughout town.<\/p>\n

My Delta flight was delayed from MTY-ATL and I switched my flight for free to Aeromexico in Business Class<\/a> without speaking to a Delta agent. My new routing was MTY-MEX-LAX and my complete route was now LAX-DTW-ATL-MTY-MEX-LAX for a total of 5,711 miles at a rate of 3.3 cents per mile which is not bad at all.<\/p>\n
