It was a two-day excursion that took us behind the scenes at the American Airlines Control Tower, Crew Lounges, Underground Bagroom, on the tarmac experience, C.R Smith Museum, and the Flight Academy facility.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a four part trip report which will be divided as follows:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2013\/06\/22\/behind-the-scenes-at-dallas-fort-worth-airport-with-american-airlines-part-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Part 1 \u2013 Terminal Renewal Improvement Program (TRIP) in Terminal A and the American Airlines Control Tower<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2013\/06\/22\/behind-the-scenes-at-dallas-fort-worth-airport-with-american-airlines-part-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Part 2 \u2013 Crew Lounges and the Underground Bagroom<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2013\/06\/23\/behind-the-scenes-at-dallas-fort-worth-airport-with-american-airlines-part-3\/\" target=\"_blank\">Part 3 \u2013 On the tarmac experience and the C.R Smith Museum<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/2013\/06\/23\/behind-the-scenes-at-dallas-fort-worth-airport-with-american-airlines-part-4\/\" target=\"_blank\">Part 4 \u2013 Flight Academy Facility \u2013 Flight Attendant Training, Flight Simulator, and the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) (formerly Systems Operations Control Center (SOCC))<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you may know, American Airlines is headquartered in Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and operates out of Terminal A, B, C, and D. All other airlines that fly into DFW are crammed into the red headed stepchild, Terminal E.<\/p>\n<p>There is so much construction going on outside of DFW, but most importantly, there are huge changes in store inside the airport. Yesterday, we met up with Julie Ludeman who is the Communications Director for the Terminal Renewal Improvement Program (TRIP) at DFW International Airport. We started at Terminal A which is currently undergoing renovation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw1.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3785\" alt=\"aadfw1\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw1.jpeg\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw1.jpeg 480w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw1-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Julie told us that there are new larger signs that say \u201cRe-Pack\u201d and \u201cRe-Dress\u201d after clearing TSA. There\u2019s also more room for passengers to re-pack and re-dress as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw2.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3786\" alt=\"aadfw2\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw2.jpeg\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw2.jpeg 480w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw2-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She also told us a lot of new restaurant concepts were now running and that there were more to come. There were also larger information signs to inform customers where the restaurants were located by gate. Julie also said that the signs and lighting were brighter and helps the customers tremendously.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw3.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3787\" alt=\"aadfw3\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw3.jpeg\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw3.jpeg 480w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/06\/aadfw3-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was a dark side to Terminal A, which were the unfinished gloomy parts of A18-39. There are also several color codes that help them out. Green means the flight is on-time, scheduled, and there are no delays. Red means the flight has been severely delayed and or cancelled.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/06\/aadfw10.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"
