The Mercado Central is located north of downtown Santiago and it\u2019s only a 10 minute walk from Plaza de Armas. The Mercado Central de Santiago is mainly a fish market for locals and tourists alike. There are restaurants located inside the Mercado Central that cater to tourists. These are known as tourist traps and you will know once the waiter comes up to you and speaks fluent English.<\/p>\n

The main center of the Mercado Central is a tourist trap lined up with expensive restaurants and waiters that speak fluent English.<\/p>\n
