For my last hotel in Shanghai, I chose to stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai in Pudong. I wanted to try out this hotel to see how it compared to the previous four luxury hotels and it was closer to the airport. I booked this hotel for 6,900 American Airlines miles and had the hotel add my Starwood Platinum membership number so I could receive benefits.<\/p>\n

I took the Shanghai metro and got off at the Tangqiao station which was literally behind the Four Points hotel.<\/p>\n

When I entered the lobby, I was floored at how upscale the lobby looked. It was definitely not your typical Four Points by Sheraton hotel.<\/p>\n

The front desk agent notified me that I had been upgraded to a one-bedroom suite and I stated that I wanted to have breakfast at the hotel as my Platinum amenity. He gave me a code for the Lobby Wi-Fi just in case I needed it.<\/p>\n

The living room consisted of two sofas, a coffee table, TV, and a living room table with four chairs.<\/p>\n

The bedroom had a desk, TV, and a king sized bed.<\/p>\n

The bathroom was small, but well stocked with Four Points by Sheraton branded amenities for this particular hotel. Like I said, it\u2019s not your typical Four Points as you would find in the United States.<\/p>\n

Out of all the five hotels I\u2019ve stayed at during this trip, this was the only one that didn\u2019t have a TV in the bathroom.<\/p>\n

I had a beautiful view of Pudong from my room sans the empty pool.<\/p>\n

The breakfast buffet was your typical Chinese breakfast and contained a lot of hot items including American and English breakfast buffet items.<\/p>\n

I had fried rice, Shanghai noodles, spinach, sausage, fried eggs, and hash browns.<\/p>\n

Even though a lot of people say to avoid staying in Pudong, it doesn\u2019t hurt to have one night planned. Taxis and the easy Shanghai metro system make it easy to get anywhere. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would not hesitate to come back to the hotel if I needed to stay in the Pudong district.<\/p>\n
