On my very first night in Shanghai, I decided to wander around the streets nearby the Le Royal Meridien hotel<\/a>. Nanjing Road is pedestrian only street famous for its shopping. Think of Nanjing Road as a Las Ramblas in Barcelona where the pedestrian only street is lined up with plenty of shops, restaurants, street entertainment, scam artists, nightclubs, and bars.<\/p>\n

Nanjing Road is best when visited during the night because of its vibrant neon signs and a mass throng of tourists and locals alike.<\/p>\n

You can find street food in small stalls or simply visit one of the many food halls.<\/p>\n

Motorcycle bikes are a huge deal in Shanghai. It\u2019s an economic and fast form of transportation for locals since Shanghai is clogged with cars, taxis, and buses. They even have designated parking spots for motorbikes.<\/p>\n

Nanjing Road is just lined up with a plethora of shops housed within large storefronts and shopping mall buildings.<\/p>\n

There is even an Apple Store located in East Nanjing Road.<\/p>\n

I started from People\u2019s Square and walked east on Nanjing Road towards the famous Bund in Shanghai. The Bund is basically a touristy waterfront area that is lined with banks, consulates, and hotels.<\/p>\n

The most famous thing about the Shanghai Bund is the river view. You can see ships in the water decorated with neon lights.<\/p>\n
